THE DISEASE STRUCTURE AND TREATMENT ADMISSION AT THE VIETNAM LEVEL 2 FIELD HOSPITAL ROTATION 5 IN SOUTH SUDAN

Abstract
Objectives: To analyze the disease structure and the treatment admission at the Vietnam Level 2 Field Hospital Rotation 5 (VNL2FH-R5) in South Sudan.
Subjects and methods: A retrospective, cross-sectional study on 2,374 patients who are examined and treated at the VNL2FH-R5 in South Sudan, from July 2023 to September 2024.
Results: During 14 months, the VNL2FH-R5 admitted 2,374 patients with a diverse disease structure, primarily focusing on orthopedic-trauma, musculoskeletal, and spinal conditions (28.68%), internal medicine (22.54%), and infectious diseases (21.19%). The hospital managed 79 inpatient cases, performed 27 surgeries, and conducted 15 aeromedical evacuations, ensuring 100% patient safety.
Conclusion: The VNL2FH-R5 in South Sudan provided medical care for 2,374 patients with a diverse disease structure, strictly adhering to the UN protocols and ensuring absolute safety.
